Lars Forssman was an Executive Board Member at a listed Insurance Company until 2008 when he joined Southern Cross Risk Management as a shareholder and Joint Managing Director. He served as the president of the Insurance Institute of Gauteng in 2007, and whilst there displayed a strong commitment to the insurance industry. In addition to his managerial position at SCRM, Lars also oversees the corporate and general liabilities broking and heads up the new business development and Affinity divisions (was responsible for designing and implementing the affinity strategy for a listed entity). Lars developed affinity programmes for Vodacom, Tarsus, SABOA, Autopage, amongst others.

John Austen set up and headed a specialist Financial Lines division at a listed brokerage before starting Southern Cross in 2004. He has over the years been the broker and advisor to the likes of Standard Bank, the Central Securities Depository, Strate, Peregrine, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, the South African Futures Exchange (SAFEX) and the Bond Exchange. Apart from his managerial role, John oversees the Professional Indemnity and Financial Lines aspects of the business.

Henning began his career as a legal officer from 2006 to 2013, dealing with recoveries and liabilities, and as a claims handler. He then started working in the credit insurance industry in 2014. He worked as a claims assessor at a leading specialist credit insurer and later moved into the role of credit insurance underwriter, further extending his knowledge in the field. Henning joined our team in 2019 as head of the Credit Division, and also acts as the internal compliance manager.

Jessica completed her Bachelors degree in Marketing Management in 2018 whilst living abroad. In 2021, she made the career move into the Financial Services industry and began working at Southern Cross Risk Management where she leads the marketing strategy for the group, and provides support to the Commercial and Personal Lines team. She works closely with Tracy on the Volume and Affinity strategy of POSP.

Anjili began her career in the graduate programme at Southern Cross Risk Management, in partnership with iTOO Special Risks. She has been involved in each of the various divisions during her internship where she has provided invaluable support to the teams. Anjili is part of the Professional Indemnity and Affinity Business teams where she provides support across all aspects of these divisions.
Kathryn has 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her roles have included underwriting, claims, broking and administration. Kathryn is dedicated to customer satisfaction and is adept at navigating complex insurance scenarios. In her role at Southern Cross, Kathryn is responsible for managing customer services and support for both personal and commercial lines clients, ensuring that clients receive prompt and effective assistance.
Cindy-Lee has over two decades of experience as a personal assistant and has effectively been providing exceptional support to the Managing Directors since 2010. Her contribution towards maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues is invaluable. Cindy-Lee’s continued commitment to her career and to the company has made her a pillar of this organization.
